Fire Shaman - The Process

 

During our concept phase of development, our concept artist created a silhouette with four arms, and the entire team instantly associated the figure with fire. That created an interesting question, "How can I use motion capture efficiently for a four-armed being?" After a variety of tests, I was able to create a process that I used for all of the fire shaman's animation. While I was working with the animation, the model was still in progress. I was also responsible for rigging the character. I started off animating on a stand in model, then moved to proxy, then to final model.
